Even though we had a few bad days because of the weather, we were still able to get some good fishing in and had a couple of nice fish dinners this trip. The photo on the left is of White Bass and a Perch. The photo on right is of White Bass and Walley

Have been doing some fishing this week. Caught a couple small white bass on Monday and Tueday was very nice. My husband caught 3 large white bass, 3 large perch and a nice size cat that really gave him a good fight. (Wish I would have taken photos.) We've lucked out with the storms that have been in the area and have been able to fish every day. Suppose to get sunny later this afternoon, so will try again later.

Ice fishing over

Went up to our cottage. The lake is still frozen, but the ice is melting along the shore and you can now see dark ice which usually means it's not very thick. I think it's safe to say Ice fishing is done for this season. Looking forward to spring and the fishing that goes with it.

It was time to take the Pier down yesterday while the weather was still good. A big thanks to my brother and his friend for helping with this. We are still keeping our boat on our water frontage for the time being for some fishing as we can just drag it to the water. I think I read the winter drawdown will be on October 15th. I caught a nice 11" perch today along with some small white bass and Scott caught some larger white bass and also some fish we threw back such as a couple walleye and a pike.

Pier back in place
The lake has finally gone down and we were able to put our pier back up. The fishing also was a lot better than our last trip. Caught enough to make a nice fish fry. I went out with my husband Saturday evening. Then my husband went out on Sunday morning and he went to where the lake feeds into the river. Well the motor died on him and he had to row all the way back. That is why we tell our renters they can use our boat, but not the motor. Not the most dependable. Still had a nice trip, but cut it short one day since we couldn't take the boat out too far unless we wanted to row. We did catch a nice stripper from our Pier before we left though. Can't wait to get back out there to do some fishing as it sounds like Fall is a great time to fish.

I hear the fish are really biting. I hope the water has gone down enough so that we can put our pier back up. Planning on doing some fishing on Saturday.

The lake is the highest I have ever seen it since we bought which was right after the flood of 2008. We had a very nice renter who took our Pier boards down for us and stacked them by our water shed. We moved them into the shed the other day. The boat was flooded and we had to bail out all the water. We now have that pulled up towards the street and on its side. Hopefully the water will go down soon even though it rained last night. The water is higher that this photo. The boat is where the Pier Planks are. I'm hoping the Pier Frame is still there under all that water.
